OPERAS BETTER, WEATHER WORSE
Those hardest of taskmasters - the opera critics - have been good to us. Alas the weather hasn't been as steady. Tsunami Sunday 12 June was the worst weather we've had since 2008 - when staff were using brooms to sweep rain from the terrace lawn.

THE FAIRYTALE WORLD OF RUSALKA
We revived our celebrated 2008 production because we thought it was the best thing we had every done. It opened on Wednesday.

RESTAURANT ENTRANCE
The bad weather has inspired us ..... We have found that we can get people into the restaurant much quicker by (a) having a diagram of the seating in the champagne bar - which guests can scrutinise before the performance (b) using the champagne bar as the entrance to the restaurant.
And this way there isn't a southerly gale blowing into the restaurant.
Why has it taken 14 years to come up with this? It was Helen's idea.

GO CRAZY
Coming to the opera should be fun. Tuesdays and Sundays (19, 21, 26, 28 June, 03, 10, 12 July) we encourage the audience to dress wackily in the shoe department, with stripes, a crazy bow tie ..... or fancy dress ..... endless possibilities
